ESAB’S DUAL SHIELD® PRIME LOW-HYDROGEN FCAW WIRES FEATURE LASER-WELDED SEAMS TO COMBAT MOISTURE ABSORPTION
ESAB’s Dual Shield® Prime is a family of seamless, low-hydrogen (H4) non-copper-coated flux cored wires that combat moisture absorption in humid environments, delivering impact toughness down to -60 oC. Tests performed in accordance with AWS standards show an initial level of 2.17 ml of diffusible hydrogen per 100 g of deposited weld metal; after one week of exposure with a 90% RH at 30 oC, Dual Shield Prime demonstrated just 2.35 ml of diffusible hydrogen.
“We laser seal the seams, so there’s no chance of Dual Shield Prime picking up moisture,” says Neil Farrow, Global Product Manager, Flux Cored Wires, ESAB. “Even after extended storage and exposure, these H4 wires retain their low hydrogen ...
The modernised PSF series of MIG/MAG welding torches from ESAB Welding & Cutting Products includes the new PSF 520W water-cooled torch. It features a 100% duty cycle rating at 500 A with both mixed gas and CO2, to take on demanding jobs with wires up to 1.6 mm in diameter.
The PSF 520W features a dual-circuit cooling system that brings cooling water all the way to the seat of the gas nozzle, as well as to the conductor tube. The torch stays cooler and more comfortable in high-heat and high arc-on time applications, such as pulsed MIG welding and using large diameter Flux-Cored wires.
Additional benefits of reduced heat through dual-circuit cooling include better wire feedability, ...
NEW CUTMASTER® BLACK SERIES PLASMA CUTTING CONSUMABLES LAST 60% LONGER, HELP CUT 16.6 PERCENT THICKER METAL
ESAB has launched its new Cutmaster® Black Series of enhanced performance plasma cutting consumables, which extend operating life by 60 percent compared to standard life electrodes. They are featured on the SL60QD™ 1Torch®, which comes with the Cutmaster 60i handheld air plasma cutting system. Coupled with internal enhancements on the Cutmaster 60i, the new electrode design increases the unit’s rated cut and piercing capacity to 20 mm, a 16.6 percent improvement. The Cutmaster 60i can sever metal up to 38 mm.
“At 16.8kgs, the Cutmaster 60i already offered the best power-to-weight ratio on the market. With the Cutmaster Black Series consumables, this 60-amp unit is even more of a cutting ...
LESS IS MORE: OK ARISTOROD® 38 ZN SOLID WIRE REDUCES SPATTER, POROSITY FOR MORE PRODUCTIVITY WHEN WELDING GALVANISED STEELS
ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has launched OK AristoRod® 38 Zn, a solid wire with a specially alloyed formula that minimises porosity and spatter on galvanized steels. As a result, it significantly reduces or eliminates rejects and rework, delivering optimised results when welding the galvanised steel components used in transportation, white goods, agricultural tanks and troughs, HVAC systems and construction (roofs, facades, gates, fences, stairs, catwalks).
Manufacturers are using thicker Zn coatings so that they can produce longer lasting components and offer longer anti-corrosion product warranties. However, a thicker coating exacerbates the challenges inherent with welding galvanised ...
